10/31/2011 -- Ken Peacock Wins Club ChampionshipCongratulations to the 2011 Club Champion, Ken Peacock. It all came down to the final two holes in the club championship after KP was tied with Denny Howell and George Hinman going into number 17. KP took advantage of errant drives from both Howell and Hinman and then sank a 20 foot downhill putt for birdie on 17 to take a two stroke lead going into 18. Ken 2-putted for par on 18 and closed out his competition to become the club champion. The process, which takes 6 to 8 weeks to grow in, received many supporters and over $100,000 was raised by the green's renovation committee to complete the project. With an August 20 projection for opening the course back up for play, the excitement at Castlewoods Country Club continues to gather momentum as the project nears completion. The renovation project has also included the construction of several new tee boxes on many of the existing holes around the course. The new length of the Bear course will now exceed 7,000 yards for those willing to take on the challenge of playing this monster.
